Direxa Presentation at the AISTech 2021 Conference

At AISTech 2021, Direxa’s President Christophe Aubertot and Direxa’s Expert in Fines Agglomeration Dr. Aitber Bizhanov delivered a presentation on why stiff extrusion can be both a viable alternative and a value adding complementing technology for high-temperature processes (sintering and pellet production) in iron waste generating industries.

Mac Steele presided over this AISTech 2021 technical session.

Together with JC Steele, our completed projects in Chile and Russia, in addition to other ongoing projects, prove stiff extrusion to be:

  • An effective means of Waste Reclamation, reusing Steel mill blast furnace sludge, dust and fines, Iron ore pellet fines and concentrates, and Metallized fines (DRI)

  • Energy Efficient with no solid fuel, no gaseous fuel, and only 25 to 35 kWh / t

  • Cost Efficient as the cost of production of 1 ton of extruded iron oxide agglomerates with a line capacity of 0.7 million tons per year, is comparable to the cost of sinter with a sinter plant productivity of 7 million tons per year

  • Environmentally responsible with emissions of CO2, SO2, NOX, and dust under 0.05 kg / t

Our know-how and culture of innovation makes us the ideal partner to develop tailored solutions that will improve both your process and product quality.
